Kyna C. Garnett, 32, also was charged with one count of fourth-degree abuse, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo announced in a news release Wednesday.

Approximately 125,000 of the state's nearly 1.3 million kindergarten through 12th graders in the 2013-14 school year fell into the chronically absent category, according to Advocates for Children of New Jersey.
