Cothran, former editor and publisher of the Aiken Standard, was inducted into the South Carolina Journalism Hall of Fame on Saturday at the South Carolina Press Association's annual meeting. Cothran, a Laurens native, was employed for 50 years by Charleston-based Evening Post Industries, whose businesses include South Carolina's largest daily newspaper, The Post and Courier, and The Aiken Standard.

Rudy, the 2014 All-Lowcountry wrestler of the year, defeated Austin Crocker of Laurens by 3-1 to win the title at 195 pounds.
