    I strongly agree with the recommendation that Judge Lisa Schultz not be retained as one of our district judges. This "do not retain" recommendation was made by the Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission, an independent commission established by the state Supreme Court.

    LAS CRUCES >> A Hatch man is facing felony charges for selling beer to a teen Tuesday, not long before that teen and two others were involved in a crash that killed two people and injured another. Alfredo Alaniz, 65, allegedly sold eight Budweiser beers to a 13-year-old boy who came to his front door in the 600 block of Hayes Street in Hatch, according to a criminal complaint filed in Magistrate Court.
