    Authorities say a suspected house burglar outran a LaPlace homeowner early Saturday morning, but was caught later as he drove past the house while sheriff's deputies were investigating the incident, the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office reported Monday . A homeowner in the 600 block of Fairway Drive told authorities he was awakened by a noise at his window shortly before 3:30 a.m. When he spotted the suspect at the window, he went outside and the suspect ran.
