    According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 72 hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 104 complaints and reports the following arrests: Jason Terrell, 28, 404 Row 1, Lafayette, LA was arrested on February 5, 2016 at 8:35 am on a warrant for criminal trespass. The warrant was issued following an investigation into a complaint of trespassing on private property on Avoca Island.

    Officers responded to a major crash on La Hwy 96, Terrace Highway, near Shady Hill Lane, involving a motorcycle and a truck around 10:56 p.m. on Feb. 5. Upon officers' arrival they observed a blue 2006 Ford F150 with heavy damage along the front passenger side and a 1996 Kawasaki motorcycle with severe damage off of the roadway. According to the Broussard Police Chief Brannon Decou, the driver of the motorcycle, 18-year-old Damian Abshire of Lafayette, was lying a few feet beyond the motorcycle.
