Rokita's staff said he was never scheduled to attend the event at the Tippecanoe County Courthouse, but an email was sent out earlier this week from a house.gov email address said the congressman would be in Lafayette at noon.

    Lafayette police were called to the AT&T store on Sagamore Parkway near Teal Road just before 8 p.m. Investigators say a man walked into the store, grabbed several phones away from an employee and jumped in a getaway car. The store manager gave a description of the vehicle and the direction it was heading to police.
