    Thomas Patrick Callahan , who taught at the now defunct St. Mary's Catholic School and later headed the guidance department at Central Catholic High School for many years, died Aug. 29 at 85. Joining what was then the Army Air Corps at 17, Callahan served as "boots on the ground" during the Korean War, later completing Officer Candidate School before becoming a communications specialist. "He was one of officers who would go and head the team that set up all the communications," his wife Sheila Callahan said.
