A 25-year-old La Puente man was charged Monday with setting fires at multiple houses of worship, including in Pasadena and Los Angeles, the L.A. County District Attorney's Office said. Christian Michael Garcia faces 20 felony counts, including 13 counts of vandalism of religious property and three counts of arson of a structure.

    Between Oct. 8 and Oct. 14, those facilities had their health permits suspended for cockroach and fly infestations and not having hot water, according to a report from the Los Angeles County Public Health Department and the Pasadena Department of Public Health. Restaurants and markets whose permits are suspended must close until another inspection determines the problems have been fixed.
