    Just a few days shy of the 10-month mark following an altercation that left one woman fatally shot and another wounded, a La Center murder suspect faced a judge, who sentenced him to spend at least the next 45 years in prison. Ballard County Circuit Court Judge Timothy Langford sentenced Shaquille Edwards on Nov. 30 to life in prison with the eligibility for parole after 25 years on the murder charge and 20 years on the attempted murder charge.

In another wet-dry election, voters in the Ballard County city of Barlow decided to allow alcohols sales by a 78 percent margin.
