Bennie Lee Sutton's death was attributed to Hurricane Florence because he was outside with the dogs as the storm's winds swirled across the area and suffered an apparent heart attack, his family said.

    Although it seems like Hurricane is just a bad memory, its effects will again be felt this weekend as the Neuse River reaches its crest.  Roger Dail, director of Lenoir County Emergency Services, said Wednesday morning the level of the Neuse River was at 23.7 to 23.9 feet. The river level is expected to rise to 25 feet Saturday morning and remain at that height for 12 to 24 hours, he said.  The National Weather Service reported later in the day that the Neuse River in Kinston will flood to 25.6 feet starting Friday night into Saturday and stay at that level into next week.
