New technology is bringing a bright future for Mohave County's latest "green" building." The new County Development Services building being built by Hardy Construction in Kingman will receive a designation from the U.S. Green Building Council as a LEED Certified Green Building, said Mohave County Office of Management and Budget Manager Gene Hepler. PHOENIX - The Arizona Corporation Commission is now accepting public comments on the Hualapai Valley Solar project. The 340-megawatt solar facility would be located 27 miles north of Kingman on 4,000 acres of private land near Red Lake. The county Planning and Zoning Commission approved zoning for the project in October, as did the County Board of Supervisors in November. Comment?

Close call leads to action on Kingman school speed limit signs
KINGMAN - For years, motorists driving around Kingman have known to slow down whenever they pass by local schools - all but one, anyway. For whatever reason, Kingman Middle School has never had any kind of speed limit or warning signs alerting motorists to the presence of children during school hours. It's an oversight that school officials have long voiced concerns over, but it wasn't until last week someone actually decided to do something about it. Comment?
