According to Maui police, Taryn Kiyota was a passenger in a 2009 toyota driven by a 24-year-old Kihei man that was traveling south on the Lahaina Bypass around 12:45 a.m. The operator apparently lost control of the vehicle, which traveled off the roadway and spun across a grass shoulder.
