    A 40-year-old Kenmare man was sentenced to probation and batterers' treatment Wednesday for physically assaulting his wife and 8-year-old daughter during a domestic altercation on Nov. 22, 2016. Charles Henry Zeiler pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and child abuse, both Class C felonies, on Wednesday in district court in Minot.

Award-winning singer, guitarist and songwriter Colin James will be performing with the 18th edition of Canadian Pacific Railway's Holiday Train scheduled to rumble through Minot Dec. 14. The train will be in Minot for a half hour, beginning at about 6:45 p.m. Other area stops include Carrington at 1:45 p.m., Harvey at 4 p.m. and Kenmare at 8:45 p.m. was released Oct. 14 by True North Records. The new album pays tribute to some of Colin's long-time blues idols, including Howlin' Wolf, Jimmy Reed, Freddie King, Jr. Wells, Buddy Guy, Peter Green, Robert Johnson and William Bell, to name a few.
