    Farrell James Ami, 73, passed away at 8:36 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2015, at the Phoenix VA Hospital after a brief illness, which included three major surgeries in less than four weeks. His burial and family gathering was held July 26 on the Hopi Reservation, with burial in Polacca Cemetery and the family gathering at the home of his sister Sonia Poocha in Keams Canyon.

    Navajo-Hopi Observer KEAMS CANYON, Ariz. - The Arizona Department of Transportation is widening State Route 264 from milepost 402 to 403 in Navajo County in front of the Keams Canyon Trading Post as part of a highway improvement project starting April 6. The project includes widening a section of highway in front of the Keams Canyon Trading Post, extending culvert pipes, relocating a waterline, installing new guardrail and overlaying the roadway with new asphalt.
