The carcass was buried by state officials Saturday after being hooked by participants in the Blacktip Challenge shark fishing tournament.

    A nine-foot hammerhead shark, caught by participants in the Blacktip Challenge shark fishing tournament over the weekend, was found Wednesday buried in the sand just north of the Juno Beach Pier. The hammerhead, which is a protected species, was buried Saturday by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials.
