Becky Wood, president of the Jonesville Historical Society and administrator for the Yadkin Valley Museum, who with the town of Jonesville, sponsored the Jonesville Jubilee, was disappointed in the day's weather but pleased that the rain held out.

Because public notice of all meetings are required, this has been confusing particularly to those who attend the regular monthly meetings without staying through the adjournment.

    A volunteer at Starmount High School is facing more charges this week involving a case in which he allegedly had sexual relations with a student from the school. These new charges against Cody Wayne Amburn, 24, of Jonesville, stem from the Elkin Police Department's investigation surrounding the case, with earlier charges from Yadkin County Sheriff's Office reported on Tuesday.

    Emergency crews from Yadkin County respond to a wreck involving an overturned mixer truck in the median of I-77 at about 1:15 p.m. in the northbound lane, just south of the N.C. 67 interchange at Jonesville. According to radio reports, one patient was pinned in the vehicle, and traffic was backed up in the northbound lane beyond Exit 79 within several minutes, and traffic also backed up in the southbound lanes so that rescue vehicles could access the scene.
