    After almost eight hours of deliberation, a jury in Washington County, Tennessee returned a verdict in a case stemming from a 2013 shooting death in Johnson City. Marcus Gergish was charged with 1st Degree Murder in the death of Timothy Peregoy, Sr. Police believed Gergish shot and killed Peregoy during an attempted robbery on April 3, 2013.

The most recent data from the Tennessee Department of Health shows nearly 32,000 adults were addicted to drugs or alcohol in the Tri-Cities in 2012 and 88 people died from overdosing that year.
