The argument began after she agreed to drive him to his job in Jefferson, but then he told her that he wanted to drive, While driving, Byrd allegedly struck the victim in the face several times with the back of his hand.

Food can be dropped out at the shelter at 29 Galilee Church Road, Jefferson, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations can also be dropped off at the Jackson County Historic Courthouse in downtown Jefferson on Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

On Monday, the Dragons got two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat the Titans 7-6 in the first region game of the season for both teams.
