Officials say the owner had hoped to take over the lot, which is owned by an adjoining business, and start raising the chicks for resale, but hadn't contacted the property owner and failed to provide the animals with proper housing or feeding/watering stations.

The work will be done between the hours of 9 pm to midnight and is necessary to clear sediments and debris from the water system. The city water officials advise that when crews are flushing nearby, customers may experience a temporary drop in water pressure or draw some discolored water for a short period of time.

    The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office reported late Saturday evening a fisherman, identified as Leonard Norbert, was participating in a fishing tournament when he didn't return for check-in. According to a lieutenant with the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, an aluminum boat was found adrift after a fisherman left on their boat around 10 a.m. Agents, along with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Marine Division, began searching for the missing fisherman at 6:40 p.m. The body of the fisherman was found at 9:53 p.m. David Wade Clark is wanted for first-degree murder and aggravated burglary in the death of 33-year-old Devin Marc Sanders.
