    At 6:30 a.m., DPS troopers responded to the crash on County Road 4228, 4 miles northwest of the city of New Summerfield, according to a news release. The preliminary crash investigation indicated that the driver of a 1996 Ford Ranger, Gavin Ray Taylor, was traveling south on CR 4228 approaching a curve to the left in the roadway at an unsafe speed, which caused the vehicle to enter a side skid.
