    Vandals defaced a historical sign on the Mississippi Freedom Trail explaining the death of civil-rights icon Emmett Till over the weekend, officials said. The metal sign in Money, Miss., erected in 2011, was scraped by vandals to remove most of its text and photographs.

    A member of the congregation at a black Mississippi church that was burned and vandalized with pro-Trump graffiti prior to the election was charged with arson, law enforcement officials said. Andrew McClinton, 45, was charged with one count of first-degree arson of a place of worship, according to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations.
