    The Iowa City Community School District will begin a much debated new bell schedule when the 2016-17 school year begins in a few weeks. Under the new schedule secondary schools will hold classes from 8:50 a.m. until 4 p.m. Elementary students will be in school from 7:55 a.m. until 2:55 p.m. Superintendent Steve Murley said the changes were approved by the school board in the winter after much discussion and consideration about what was best for students.
