    Emergency crews responded to a call on Indianola Road on March 23 for a woman who was hit by a truck, but arrived to discover that the woman was injured when she stepped out of the vehicle as it was moving, and was then ran over by the same truck. The 911 call was made at 9:48 a.m. after the driver of a truck called to notify paramedics that the 34-year-old female passenger in his vehicle exited it as it was moving in the 23000 block of Indianola Road.

    The body of a man discovered washed up on a Kingston beach the afternoon of Dec. 9 has been identified as Lawrence E. Zane, 73, of Burien. Chief Deputy Coroner Tony Stewart said Dec. 16 that Zane had lived in an assisted living center.

    Widespread power outages are reported in North Kitsap from the overnight windstorm, with a total of 44,712 customers affected in Puget Sound Energy's service area . "The peak number of outages happened around 1 a.m. with nearly 105,000 customers without power [systemwide]," PSE reported at 6 a.m. Dec. 12. "We've restored power to more than 182,000 customers since the wind storm started.
