    Graduation rates in the Clark County School District continued to inch closer to 75 percent, with 16,921 students receiving high school diplomas in 2015, according to preliminary data from the state. The 72.1 percent graduation rate was higher than the 70.9 percent rate posted for the class of 2014, when 16,604 students graduated, and the statewide average of 70.9 percent for the 2014-15 school year.

    A former bailiff for an ousted Clark County District Court judge died at High Desert State Prison in Indian Springs on Wednesday, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections. Johnnie Jordan, 46, the former bailiff for judge Elizabeth Halverson , was found dead inside his cell in the infirmary at the prison, the department said in a release Friday.
