    This dog is more than fed up with the proliferation of construction projects that seem to be multiplying exponentially along a number of streets and avenues in Northeast Kansas City, and we've just about reached a breaking point. Driving in Historic Northeast has become like navigating an ever-changing obstacle course populated with front end loaders, orange cones, steel plates and huge, symmetrical holes where asphalt used to be.

    On August 16, 2017, the body of Michael Anthony High-Frump was dumped near Cliff Drive in Kansas City's Historic Northeast neighborhood. The circumstances of the disturbing incident remained a mystery for five months, until the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office announced murder charges on January 18, 2018 for Kansas City brothers Antonio and Miguel Love.

    Vaughn's Diamond was a prominent building constructed in the late 1860's by early Kansas City real estate pioneer Samuel Vaughn, who purchased the plat in the Ross and Scarritt's addition in 1866. Vaughn's Diamond stood at the intersection of Main, Delaware and 9th Street and was known as The Junction, as it was the intersection of the 9th Street, the Main Street and the Delaware Avenue streetcar routes.

    Michael Bushnell Northeast News A second defendant has been charged with Second Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action in the January 2nd Independence Center murder of Matthew Haylock. Court documents reveal that seventeen year old Luis Ramirez who resided in the 3200 block of Anderson Avenue in the Scarritt Renaissance neighborhood conspired with co-defendant, seventeen year old Tyler Gates of Independence to rob and murder the victim.
