The lots on Tahoe's north shore were among 87 parcels the county handed to the Incline Village General Improvement District five years ago, forgiving more than $800,000 in unpaid property taxes on the land in exchange for a promise to maintain them as open space.

The Washoe County Sheriff's office says the white male suspect stole 55 bottles of high-end red wine from the Raley's Supermarket just before 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23. Surveillance video released on Wednesday shows the man wearing flip-flops with a jacket vest and a scarf around his neck with several bottles of wine in a shopping cart.
