    Evacuations were ordered for the communities of Hurkey Creek, Apple Canyon, Fleming Ranch and Strawberry Creek, the Riverside County Emergency Management Department said about 1:30 p.m. Caltrans closed Highway 74 in both directions from McCall Park Road in Mountain Center near Idyllwild to Borco Street in Hemet. The county said southbound Highway 243 at Saunders Meadow Road was closed, along with northbound Highway 74 at Morris Ranch Road - the latter closure is south of the stretch of Highway 74 closure announced by Caltrans.

Personnel will remain on the fire to patrol and continue mop-up until the blaze is fully controlled and out.
