    Evacuations orders in the Cranston fire burn area in the San Jacinto Mountains were canceled at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, after a storm moved out of the area. Residents of the communities of Hurkey Creek, Apple Canyon, Fleming Ranch and Strawberry Creek were told to leave about 1:30 p.m., the Riverside County Emergency Management Department said.

    The Cranston Fire , which burned 13,139 acres near Idyllwild in the San Jacinto Mountains, is now fully contained, officials announced Friday, Aug. 10. The fire is 100 percent contained, although not out, San Bernardino National Forest officials said via Twitter midday Friday . Personnel will remain on the fire to patrol and continue mop-up until the blaze is fully controlled and out.
