    The Hyannis Fire Department received a call Friday from the New Hampshire state fire marshal's office regarding a large fireworks purchase by unidentified females driving a rented cargo van.  Barnstable police were able to obtain the make, model and vehicle registration and notified all area police departments. At around 7 p.m. state police officers stopped the van on Route 6 between exits 4 and 5. Kayla F.     A Brewster man accused of providing heroin to a fellow county jail inmate who overdosed on his 31st birthday was indicted Thursday on a charge of involuntary manslaughter, according to the Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office. Timothy Evans, 25, also was indicted by a Barnstable County grand jury on charges of distribution of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, delivering drugs to a prisoner and conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act.

    Former Truro Police Chief John Lundborn, who resigned in 2011 after crashing a police cruiser while driving drunk, has been found guilty by a Barnstable District Court jury of a second offense of operating under the influence and of endangering his 3-year-old son while doing so, according to court records. Lundborn, 47, of Hyannis, was released after Wednesday's verdict, but Judge Christopher D. Welsh required him to stay confined to his home, wearing a GPS bracelet, until sentencing July 14, according to the Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office.
