Gerald Hautman, of Jet Sanitation, was operating a 2010 Mack dump truck, traveling eastbound on Sunrise Highway South Service Road near Redmond Avenue when the vehicle struck Gloria Prietto at approximately 11:10 a.m. Prietto, 81, of Bay Shore was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where she was pronounced dead. Hautman, 41, of Huntington Station was uninjured and remained at the scene.
