    While other parts of our infrastructure, particularly our roads, continue to crumble around us, we are told that an $800,000 expenditure for faster Internet service will help retain existing businesses and attract more new businesses to Hudson. While I don't disagree with that assumption, I do disagree with the prioritization of Internet service over basic transportation and public safety.

    Although the Hudson Planning Commission recommended July 13 that Council withdraw the ordinance that could have permitted cottage housing, Council July 21 sent it back for a recommendation. A developer asked to amend sections of the Land Development Code to allow cottage housing in districts 4 and 5 in which smaller homes would be clustered around common areas.
