    A car crash near Houston Wednesday left one person dead, and at least one other person is believed to be seriously injured, according to Alaska State Troopers. The crash shut down the Parks Highway near Mile 53, close to where it intersects with Hawk Lane, troopers said.

    Part of the Parks Highway was closed for more than an hour Wednesday morning after a crash near Houston injured three people, Alaska State Troopers said. Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters said the multiple-vehicle crash, at Mile 60 near the Parks' intersection with Zero Lake Road, was first reported to troopers at 8:40 a.m. One person was flown from the scene, Peters said, and two were taken from the crash site by ground ambulance.
