    County Commissioners discussed the final operating budget that included raising wages for Sheriff's Office employees at their budget work session Monday afternoon at the county Administration Building. Commissioners have been working to approve an interim budget for the 2015-2016 fiscal year by which the county must submit their final budget to the state by July 31. After Monday's meeting, the estimate for the amount of unrestricted cash carrying over was at about $2.6 million, County Finance Director Donna Brandon said.

Corrections spokeswoman Alex Tomlin told The Associated Press on Monday that the agency is ending its relationship with New Life Recovery House in Alamogordo following an internal investigation stemming from the September lawsuit.
