According to a report, at approximately 11:48 p.m., the Christian County Sheriff's Office and the Hopkinsville Police Department requested the assistance of the Logan County Sheriff's Department regarding a vehicle pursuit headed eastbound on US 68 about to enter into Logan County.

According to a police report, upon arrival deputies discovered by investigation that a 2000 Mack tractor trailer being operated by Joseph L. Bilyeu of Hopkinsville was traveling south bound from W.H. Brown Road, when the operator failed to make a complete stop before traveling onto the westbound lanes of the bypass.
