    The father of a 13-year-old Hopewell boy found dead Sunday in a homicide was convicted 13 years ago of wounding the child so severely that he was left with permanent disabilities that required around-the-clock medical care for the rest of his life. Charles Byron Goldsborough II, then 27, pleaded guilty in 2005 to aggravated malicious wounding for abusing his son so severely that a prosecutor said Goldsborough "for all intents and purposes ended the life of his son in all but physiology," according to court records in the case.
