    MENDON - The Worcester district attorney's office and state police are investigating the unattended death of a 10-week-old baby that took place at Bethany Community Church in Mendon Tuesday. The little boy was discovered unresponsive at the church's day care center on Cape Road around 5 p.m. by his mother, who had arrived to pick him up, according to the district attorney's office.

    A postal worker from Hopedale has been charged with stealing a gift card and money order from mail collection boxes and possession of Suboxone. Matthew L. Grenon, 28, of 18 Hope St., Hopedale, was arraigned Thursday in Central District Court on two counts of breaking into a depository and single counts of larceny of more than $250 by a single scheme and unlawful possession of Suboxone, a prescription medicine often used to treat opioid dependence.

    Upton voters got recognition for doing their civic duty recently, when former state Sen. Louis P. Bertonazzi and members of his foundation presented  Town Clerk Kelly A. McElreath with a check for $1,000 and bragging rights for being the "Best voting community 2015-2016." It was the second time Upton held the honor of having the highest voter turnout among the 19 communities represented by Mr. Bertonazzi when he was a state representative or senator from 1968 to 1996.

Operation Turkey Sandwich, a community project designed to help locals meet and support their neighbors, will dispatch an army of volunteers bearing the sandwiches and accompaniments on Thanksgiving Day.
