    More than a dozen Upstate men and women face prison time and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines after they pleaded guilty to taking part in a mail theft ring, according to federal officials. A release from U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles listed the defendants as Wendy B. Sisk, 44, and Crystal D. Hudson, 33, both of Honea Path; Jason Tomsha, 46, of Greenville; and Shannon D. Ashworth, 33, Tonya M. Reid, 38, John T. Eskew, 28, Casey Hembree, 20, Justin D. Powers, 24, Whitney Strickland, 27, Danny C. Buford, 47, Ashley N. Burdette, 29, James M. Day, 44, Andrew C. Keaton, 23, and Bonnie Reid, 57, all of Anderson.

    The county was awarded up to $2,496,284 in funding from S.C. Housing under the Neighborhood Initiative Program, which is made possible by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Hardest Hit Fund. The money will be used to demolish blighted residential properties in the Appleton-Equinox area, Belton area, Broadway area, Gossett Street, Homeland Park area, Honea Path area, Iva area, Morningside-Orr Mill area, Pendleton area, Piedmont area and the Williamson-Pelzer-West Pelzer area.
