    A 61-year-old toll worker was struck and killed at the Mass Pike tolls in Auburn just after midnight after a truck exiting an EZ-Pass lane hit him, police said. The toll collector, who is from Holden but was not identified, was taken to UMass Medical Center in Worcester, where he died of unspecified injuries, according to State Police.

Born in Holden, he was the son of Clayton and Edna Drown and lived 51 years in Sterling.  He graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1960 and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served four years.
