The event, which dates back at least 10 years, features different businesses and vendors for the community to visit. Businesses decorate their exteriors and vendors of all kinds set up tents with games, food, and candy to entertain the hundreds of people that come each year.

    Liberty County Emergency Management Agency Director Mike Hodges, Deputy Director Larry Logan and EMA Specialist Robert Dodd told Hinesville officials last week that forecasters are predicting 12-15 tropical storms in the Atlantic this Hurricane Season, which starts June 1. They made the presentation prior to the city council's regular meeting. Dodd said forecasters predict 6-8 hurricanes with 3-5 of them becoming major hurricanes.

    Team Hinesville Weightlifting, a local Olympic weightlifting team which operates in association with Team Savannah Weightlifting and the City of Hinesville, is introducing a new exercise program which will benefit people with Parkinson's Disease and other movement disorders. The program, called Get Excited and Move, was created by former Olympian and Olympic weightlifting coach Michael Cohen who runs the Anderson Cohen Weightlifting Center in Savannah.
