    Hawaii Island police are asking for the public's help in identifying a photographic image of a suspect involved in an attempted burglary at a business establishment on the 1100 block of Kilauea Avenue in Hilo. The photo depicts the male suspect, who is described as being Caucasian, in his late teens or early 20s, approximately 5-foot-4 inches to 5-foot-9 inches tall with short hair.

    Hilo District Judge Barbara Takase on Thursday ordered Aaron Raymond Castro to appear for a hearing at 2 p.m. on July 8. Castro is charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree assault and second-degree theft. According to court documents filed by police, a 30-year-old Hilo man, Jantzen-James Mata, told officers that Castro hit him and broke his jaw, then took Mata's bag, which reportedly contained almost $400 in cash, and fled.

The 12 were arrested for blocking access of construction workers trying to reach the summit of Mauna Kea to build the controversial observatory.
