    A 30-year-old Hillsville woman has been charged with malicious wounding and domestic violence after allegedly stabbing a Hillsville man Friday morning. According to Hillsville Police Department Sgt./Investigator Alan Gravley, a 31-year-old Hillsville man, Lonnie Baggatta, came into the HPD office at approximately 9 a.m. this morning complaining of a stab wound in his back.

    A Hillsville woman and her children avoided injuries Sunday night after their vehicle hit a boulder and was engulfed by fire on Fancy Gap Mountain. According to Trooper P.K. Cheek of the Virginia State Police, Shana Parnell, 30, of Hillsville was driving a 2002 Audi northbound on U.S. 52 at approximately 8:10 p.m. when a boulder fell off Fancy Gap Mountain and the vehicle hit it just past The Tavern.
