    HILLSDALE, MI - The Hillsdale County Sheriff's Department is telling residents to be alert and cautious about the most recent "Text Messaging", "Phone" and "Email Scams". Hillsdale County Sheriff Tim Parker says courts and local Law Enforcement have received numerous complaints in the past few weeks of a new "Text Messaging" scam where individuals are receiving text messages advising them they need to pay a ticket or court fee or they will be arrested.

    HILLSDALE, MI - A truck driver from suburban Detroit was sentenced last week in Hillsdale County following a June 28, 2018 crash which killed a Reading man. The Hillsdale Daily News reports 42-year-old Robert Earl Martienssen Junior of Canton entered a no contest plea last month to a misdemeanor charge of moving violation causing death after he missed a stop sign and his freightliner collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of M-49 and Bankers Road.

Hillsdale County Sheriff Tim Parker says deputies were dispatched just after 4:00 a.m. to the Dombrowski residence just north of the Michigan-Ohio line to investigate a report of a man being shot.
