    The Denton County Transportation Authority is offering free rides on select services all day Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6, in order to help voters get to the polls. Veterans get another chance to ride free on Veteran's Day, on Monday, Nov. 12. No special identification is needed to ride free on the A-train, Connect buses in Denton and Lewisville, campus shuttles at the University of North Texas and North Central Texas College, as well as the shuttles to the Denton Enterprise Airport Zone and in Highland Village.

    DCTA officials announced that they have discontinued the agency's "on-demand" rider service in northern Lewisville and Highland Village, instead offering more service through Lyft, an app-based ride-hailing service. In a designated zone that covers roughly the area north of FM407 to the lake in Highland Village, and east of Interstate 35E and north of Main Street to the lake in Lewisville, riders can use DCTA-sponsored discounts from Lyft.
