MaxPreps is a CBSSports.com website that follows high school sports, and it ranks the Springers 43rd after a 14-1 season in which the Eastern Henrico school won the first state championship for the school since the Virginia High School League introduced a state playoff system.

    Henrico County fire units rescued a dog during a structure fire on the 100 block of North Rose Avenue in the Highland Springs area Wednesday afternoon. Crews were able to resuscitate the dog using a pet oxygen mask and was transported by the Animal Protection officers to a nearby veterinary hospital.
