    A half-million dollars from the state will help pay for traffic signal upgrades at a couple of intersections in Sharon and Hermitage. The Governor announced on Thursday that the City of Sharon is getting $316,000 to modernize the traffic signal at South Sharpsville Avenue, East Connelly Boulevard, and the Shenango Valley Freeway.

The sign belonged to Mercer County District Attorney Mary Odem who won the race for district judge in Tuesday's voting.

    A Hermitage physician is the first Mercer County practitioner to receive approval from the Pennsylvania Department of Health as a caregiver under the state's new medical marijuana program. Dr. Robert Brown, 3150 Highland Rd., a practitioner of physical medicine and rehabilitation, is included on the state's Medical Marijuana Patient and Caregiver Registry which was unveiled Wednesday by Acting Health Secretary and Physician General Dr. Rachel Levine.
