    On Saturday, Levin Furniture opened its doors with a sense of flair and optimism at the site of the former Goldsteins Furniture, 836 Youngstown Warren Road, that closed its doors earlier this year after 112 years in business. Levin, which is celebrating is 99th year in business this year, has opened three area stores since August in former Goldsteins Furniture stores - Hermitage, Pa., Boardman and Niles.

    Township residents narrowly defeated an effort to allow zoning in the township in a vote of 50.44 percent to 49.56 percent, according to incomplete and unofficial results from the Trumbull County Board of Elections. Elected officials attempted to convince residents that the township is a "quasi-rural community" and needs the residents to support the zoning issue that would allow officials to identify the best manner for regulated property and land utilization in the township.
