The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the Village of Herkimer will be conducting a training exercise to erect a flood wall located under the New York State Thruway Bridge.

    Snells Bush Church, on Dockey Rd. in the Town of Manheim in Herkimer County is a Dutch Reformed Church that first opened on that site in 1757, but is now in need of a major restoration or it may be lost forever. It was used as a community gathering place as well as a meeting place for the local residents in the mid to late 1700's and was also one of the staging areas for General Nicholas Herkimer in 1777 as he and his men set out to ultimately take part in the infamous Battle of Oriskany during the Revolutionary War.

Perry, 25, from Cold Brook Street in Poland, and charged him with Vehicular Manslaughter 2nd degree, Vehicular Assault 1stdegree, Vehicular Assault 2nd degree , Criminally Negligent Homicide, Operating a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired by Drugs, Failure to Keep Right and No Inspection Certificate following an indictment by the Herkimer County grand jury. The arrest follows an investigation into the July 2015 fatal crash that killed 21 year-old Cameron Jones and injuring four other passengers.
