    Three people remained hospitalized late Monday after a plane crash injured four people Sunday morning near the Hereford Municipal Airport. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Traffic Safety Board are investigating the crash that officials say occurred about 11:40 a.m. as a Piper PA-32-30 was departing Hereford's airport.

    Jonathan Joey Mendoza, 35, was killed Wednesday evening during a police officer-involved shooting in Hereford, according to the Amarillo Police Department. Officers were attempting to apprehend Mendoza on his warrants for parole violation – two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count each of assault of a household or family member by impeding breathing or circulation and committing a terrorist threat.

    A Hereford teenager was killed when she was hit by a vehicle while walking on Farm-to-Market Road 1412 on Thursday night in Deaf Smith County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. At about 9:45 p.m., Cecelia Aguilar, 18, was walking east in the eastbound lane of F.M. 1412 about 15 miles north of Hereford.
