    On Thursday at about 10:40 a.m., the Carbon Metro Drug Task Force served a search warrant at 129 E 100 N in Price, and the residence of Katherine Earline Bateman, 26. The task force was assisted by officers from Helper City and Price City. Agents allegedly seized about 13 grams of methamphetamine, 8 grams of heroin, 5 grams of cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, and just over $250 cash.

    The Natural Resources Conservation Service has awarded Emergency Watershed Protection grants to Helper City and the Carbon Canal Company for flood-related projects in the wake of the 2014 flooding events that affected several areas in Carbon County. The agreement with the NRCS for the projects was reviewed and approved at the regular meeting of the Carbon County Commission on June 15. Torrential rains in August and September of 2014 resulted in substantial flooding in Helper, Spring Glen, the Carbon Country Club, Carbonville, Westwood Subdivision and Wellington.
