    A teen serving up to 18 years in state prison over the death of a Scranton police officer pleaded guilty this week to possessing a stolen vehicle in a separate case. Nasiir Jones, 19, of Scranton on Wednesday pleaded guilty to a felony count of receiving stolen property after prosecutors say he was found in possession of a stolen vehicle on Interstate 81. According to a police affidavit, troopers were dispatched to I-81 near Hazleton the afternoon of June 18, 2015, to a report of a vehicle crash.

    Kurt T. Mumie, 30, pleaded guilty to two felony counts of robbery and a misdemeanor count of making terroristic threats, court records show. Luzerne County Judge Michael T. Vough accepted the pleas and set sentencing for Nov. 20. Prosecutors say Mumie robbed Pence Variety at 586 Alter St., Hazleton, on April 6, then robbed the Pantry Quik, 902 W. Diamond Ave., on April 8. Two BB pistols matching the images of a gun captured on video surveillance at Pantry Quik were found inside the home where Mumie was apprehended, according to prosecutors.
